On the 17th, KNN reported that a cafe in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, announced on social media (SNS) that it would not accept Chinese customers. It was reported that the cafe had written 'We do not accept Chinese guests' in its Instagram description. They did not put up a separate notice at the store, and only announced the policy through social media. The cafe explained to the broadcast, "It is not due to personal anti-China sentiment, but rather a measure taken into account of conflicts between Chinese customers and customers." As the controversy spread, a petition was filed with the National Human Rights Commission stating that 'not accepting Chinese customers is discrimination,' and the Commission persuaded the owner to remove the wording   ,,,, and in the end, the owner accepted it. Although the café has withdrawn its policy of restricting Chinese visitors, related posts have been reshared, fueling ongoing controversy, with claims such as, "Individual business owners have the right to choose their customers."   Some argued,,,,, "If there was actual harm, that's understandable," but criticism was raised that "blocking all Chinese people is discrimination." It would be fine if only Chinese people quietly avoided it, but since they openly announced it,,, it's a problem!!!!!!!
