North Korea reportedly launched about ten short-range ballistic missiles, presumed to be 600mm mega-rocket launchers, into the East Sea on the 20th. In line with President Donald Trump's intention to engage in dialogue with North Korea, the South Korea-U.S. military authorities fired the missiles even after halving the regular defensive joint exercise 'Ulchi Shield of Freedom' (UFS). The KN-25 is said to have a range of around 400 km and can carry the tactical nuclear warhead 'Hwasan-31,' which North Korea unveiled in 2023 . This also implies that North Korea could launch tactical nuclear attacks across the entire Korean Peninsula in case of emergency. This launch took place during the South Korea-U.S. joint exercise 'Ulchi Shield of Freedom' (UFS) held from the 17th to the 21st , but after China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi's visit to South Korea, which had been ongoing since the previous day, was carried out, there are speculations that the launch was carried out of consideration for China.
