On the 13th, Lee Jae-jung, a member of the Democratic Party, stated during a National Assembly Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee audit, "Former President Yoon and his wife visited France twice in 2023, and during those visits, they planned to bring dogs and requested that protocols be prepared." Representative Lee pointed out , "There were absurd situations such as requesting a space for dogs in hotel suites, designating a dog-only vehicle and embassy staff capable of handling the dogs." He continued, "During summit diplomatic visits, the safety and security of the head of state or delegation are prioritized . It should come first, but I cannot help but lament that our public organization was manipulated so much to make dogs ceremonial," adding, "Is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Kim Keon-hee's travel manager? They have to set up a doghouse and have to take in the first dog—it's so humiliating." In response, Foreign Minister Cho Hyun confirmed, "From what I have investigated,,,, it turns out that the presidential office contacted the Embassy in France directly from the presidential office without going through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' protocol office." Minister Cho said, "To prevent such incidents from happening again, and to ensure that the diplomats responsible for protocol do not lose their pride, I will thoroughly investigate."
